Secondhand September is a movement that encourages people to choose secondhand shopping throughout the month of September, helping extend the life of pre-loved items while making more affordable and sustainable choices. By shopping secondhand at The Salvation Army Thrift Store, you can find affordable, fashionable pieces while making a positive impact in your community and on the environment.

What's it mean to us?

This campaign is all about telling the world that fashion is for everyone. Putting together looks that you love doesn’t need to be expensive, hard on the planet, or inaccessible—at least not when you shop at The Salvation Army Thrift Store. Our stores are a great place to find stylish, affordable, and sustainable clothing and accessories for all ages, shapes, and styles.

Our campaign photoshoot in our East York location featured a diverse group of models styled in outfits sourced 100% from that store.

Campaign models were chosen to reflect the diversity of our shoppers, donors, and employees, while the models’ outfits reflected the different fashion aesthetics being worn by younger shoppers in the Millennial and Gen Z ages.

The result? Looks to inspire your next trip to the Thrift Store, from runway-ready inspo to trending styles like quiet luxury, maximalism, soft girl, Y2K, and dark academia.
