The Salvation Army Thrift Store, National Recycling Operations (NRO) is part of one of the largest national charities in Canada that gives hope and support to over 2.6 million people. We are proud to be one of Canada’s largest clothing recyclers. Through our Thrift Stores we offer savings on secondhand clothing and household goods while caring for our communities and the planet we share.

Our History
Salvation Army founder General William Booth was a visionary who effected great change on an international scale. As founder of The Salvation Army, General Booth responded to social concerns in the 19th century by creating an organization designed to meet the needs of all humans without discrimination.
In response to the need for jobs and affordable merchandise, coupled with a desire to preserve the land, Booth created the Household Salvage Brigade composed of men and women who collected unwanted household items. We carry on that legacy today through our Thrift Store and Donor Welcome Centre locations across Canada.
