The Salvation Army Thrift Store is good for more than affordable clothing! Have you ever considered thrifting decor for your home? I’ve written about the items you can thrift for your home before, but I thought I would touch on the on trend decor pieces you can find at the Salvation Army Thrift Store.

I have a few pieces of thrifted decor in our home and they can be fairly easy to find. People are constantly moving, rearranging, organizing or now Marie Kondoing their homes, and when they no longer want something it probably ends up at your local thrift store. The key is to know what you are looking for. What do I always say? Go in with a plan.

Throughout the year I am pinning or saving photos I see that inspire me for my own home style. There might be a specific piece I want to find, so I keep inspiration pictures of what this might look like, so when I see it I will know! For example I was looking for a secondhand portrait for a really long time and then I found one at the thrift store, I knew right away it would be perfect! At that point I had already moved some art as I knew I wanted to find something new!

If you have some new greenery for your home but don’t want to spend a fortune on pots. The Salvation Army Thrift Store is a great alternative. People get rid of plants all the time or maybe they die, either way the pots end up being donated to the thrift store. I’ve seen some great pots recently, ceramic, metal, and even a nice pottery one. The styles are endless. Before you go make sure to measure you plant pot so you are buying the right size.

I think baskets will continue to be popular this year. No need to drop a lot of money on baskets, check out your local thrift store. It might take a few trips but I am sure you could find some great options for you basket wall. I recently went to two different Salvation Army Thrift Stores in my neighborhood and found all the baskets I needed! They are getting new product in every day, so there is always the chance to find what you need.

Vintage Candlesticks

Do you want brass or silver or glass? Whatever style you are looking for, you can definitely thrift when it comes to candlesticks! Believe me, but don’t ask my husband because it’s a touchy subject. Vintage candlesticks add a great look and texture to any room, whether on a mantel or table or on a shelf. Candlesticks are easy to thrift as they seem to be an item that is donated a lot.

Crystal Decanters

Have a small bar or bar cart you want to dress up with some crystal decanters? The thrift store is a great place to find different styles when it comes to decanters. Sometimes these items are kept behind the counter, so make sure to check there as well. Crystal decanters can also be used as an alternative to a vase and look really great on a table setting.
