You know you’re a good shopper when you get a bang for your buck. I’m all about getting the best of the best but on a budget, so today I thought I share some of my tips on how you can look expensive without breaking the bank!

Thrift Shop: It’s no secret if you’re an avid thrift shopper but for those who aren’t, the best way to find gently worn brand names, designer goods, and great quality pieces for a reduced price is by shopping at a Thrift Store. One of my favourite places to shop at is Salvation Army Thrift Store mainly because they are everywhere-- which means it’s easy to locate, and they always have amazing deals that are worth going to! If you got a good eye, you’ll be able to spot some amazing brands in no time!

Wear all black or a monochromatic look: There’s something about wearing all black that instantly makes you look chic and well put together. Whenever I’m having a fashion dilemma, I always resort to an all black look because it’s easy to spot in my wardrobe, and instantly makes you look expensive. And since black is a common colour amongst people’s wardrobes, you can wear a monochrome look without spending a penny on a outfit.

Take care of your clothes: Take the extra step and take the time to actually iron or steam your shirts, dress, and pants. It makes all the difference because it looks like that you took the time to make an effort in your look. When you take care of your clothes, you’re taking care of your overall appearance.

Focus on detail: The first thing a person sees when making direct eye contact is your eyes and face, so you want to make sure you’re taking the time to look put together by fixing any hair that’s sticking out, makeup that might be smudged, or even simply change your lip colour by wearing a bold red lip.

Buy only a few items at a time: When it comes to shopping you want to make sure you’re being attentive and being careful of what you purchase. One of the most common mistakes is making a fast purchase without thinking twice before you buy it. This has happened to be MANY times where I would buy something and not even wear it. It’s definitely a waste of money so you want to make sure you’re taking your time when it comes to shopping and make sure you’re grabbing a few items that have the best of quality and something that you’ll be wearing repeatedly because in the long run you’ll actually be saving money!

So those of my tips on how you can look expensive but on a budget, make sure to sign up for Salvation Army Thrift Store’s weekly newsletters to keep posted on their deals so you can get some amazing items for a discounted price!
