Let’s face it. Valentine’s Day is coming up and sometimes it can get a little overrated with stores being filled up with chocolates, teddy bears, and roses. So instead of doing a Valentine’s Day look, I thought it’d be nice to write a blog post on ways that you can easily incorporate red to your look. Red is one of those colours that can really bring up your mood and even drastically change your look. It’s one of my go-to colours whenever I feel like I need a pick-me-up!

So whether you’re adding red for a Valentine’s Day date or just dressing up for yourself, here are some of my tips for adding red to your look;

Start with makeup:

Sometimes red can be a very bold colour to wear in a outfit, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. So if you want to keep your reds to a minimum you can always play it in with your makeup. This can make a huge difference when it comes to your overall look, a classic red lip always does the trick or even painting your nails red will also instantly change your look altogether!

Wear a print or pattern that has red:

Okay going even one step further. If you feel comfortable enough to wear red in a very subtle way, there’s always wearing a clothing piece with a red pattern or print to it. Like for instance, this vintage floral top has elements of red in it-- very subtle, cute, and it works.

Go all out in red:

If red is your colour then this one’s for you. Whether you add a top or bottom (or both) that’s red it will makes heads turn. It’s such a bold classic colour that is easy to style with dark colours like black, navy, and even dark brown!

And finally, there’s many shades to red so you can incorporate the colour in ways that makes you feel good. Have fun and experiment with you look, maybe step out of your comfort zone and try a crazy red colour!
